Frankie the Monster Monitor(still working on it)

This I have to translate cause y startered it in Spanish. So my friend ericiglesias.com called me and told me he needed help with some monitors that he recently adquired from a friend of him. These monitors turned out to be 3 Huge SGI(Silicon Graphics) Monitors from 1991, 1992 and 1993. We startered making some google search's. It turns out they were 2 Hitachi Sync-on-Green Monitors and one Mitsubishi Sync-on-Green. We started to pull some ideas to make the vga conector of the computer compatible with the Sync-on-Green signal. The Hitachi kind, had 3 BNC conectors for RGB, an Sync On Green, since no other cable was to be found for the Vertical and Horizontal Sync.

We founded this page, raphnet.net were he show the squematics for mixing th Hsync an Vsync into the Green signal.

We tried this. I maded the conectors for the first strick since it didn´t work at it suposed to. We then started googling a little more and found a page were in the end, the page mentioned that this was a normal monitor once you pass the conector point.

Frankie monitor es un monitor Mitsubishi de 20" de 50+libras Producido para Silicon Graphics. La jornada empezó cuando quisímos utilizar este monitor propietario de SGI para usarlo en una PC normal. Este monitor tiene la cualidad de ser multi sincronia. Esta mercadeado como un monitor de Sincronía en Verde lo cual multiplexa las sincronias de la señal para que se junten en un solo conductor con la señal de Verde. Encontramos por ahí, gracias a google que en realidad este es un monitor que detras de los conectores de entrada es un monitor normal y corriente con la determinante que hay que quitar el conector de fabrica para poner el cable directo a los puntos de soldadura que son R G B HD VD. Mi socio ericiglesias.com tuvo la inquietud de hacer que el conector trasero fuera funcional, así que emprendimos el esfuezo de hacer un par de modificaciones para hacerlo funcinar como de fábrica.
